Fire Alarm Information

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

By law the fire detection system in this building is linked directly to the Fire Brigade. NSW Fire & Rescue will attend every time the alarm is activated. NSW Fire & Rescue will issue fines of $1600 for false alarm call outs which apply directly to the occupant of the room. The easiest way to cook without activating the alarm is to never leave cooking unattended.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR COOKING IN THE ROOM

  • Never leave cooking unattended
  • Ventilate the room by turning on ceiling fan, portable fan and opening a window or sliding door
  • If cooking fumes or smoke build up DO NOT open the main door to the corridor (this will draw fumes/smoke into the corridor where alarms are more sensitive)
